How did you start working at Misionero?
I have worked for smaller buying groups as well as high-profile grower-shippers and landed with Misionero 14 years ago. Misionero is my work home and I love the values and sense of family.
What part of your job do you find the most satisfying?
What I find the most satisfying is when my customers ask me, “why are you so happy?” Knowing that I am attentive to my customers and keeping them happy makes it all worth it.
Why did this type of work interest you, how did you get started?
Produce interested me back in 1994; I attended a vocational school for Dental Hygiene and had lost interest in the profession. While talking to my patients in the Salinas Valley, I became curious about how produce all came together, from Farm to Table. Produce seemed like the place to be in the Salinas Valley and I sought it out as a career change from there.
How do you describe a typical day in Sales at Misionero?
In produce that is a funny question, there is no typical day. I tell myself every day is going to be a good day and try my best to keep that perspective no matter what the circumstances. I make every effort to take care of all my customers’ needs! My title best fits as a sales and customer service representative. I build and manage the day to day for our customers.
How do you feel about the company and the future of the company?
I am very optimistic about Misionero; we have a very passionate and dedicated team. We are always looking for what is next in innovation and keeping our customers and home team happy.
How would you describe your working atmosphere?
I absolutely love all my co-workers, I consider everyone here my family and the grounds where Misionero, Gonzales is located is breathtaking. Ever since I first started at Misionero it has felt like home.
How do you like to spend your time when you are not working?
When I am not working I like to spend my time outdoors with my family. We enjoy camping and hiking, my 15-year-old daughter and I volunteer at the SPCA (loving on all of the dogs). She is also involved in 4-H and has raised 3 pigs to date.
What are your best memories of working at Misionero?
The relationships that have been built with my customers and colleagues while working here are everlasting. The family environment held here means a lot to me.
